Being fit is being healthy: Hansa Singh
Gym and diet are both important. But I would tilt towards diet, as it's your diet that makes all your workouts worth it,”she added.
Actress, tarot card reader, healer and occultist Hansa Singh talks about fitness and says, “Being fit is being healthy. Your pathology should tell you all is well. That’s basically your inner health; it should be better to take care of your outer body. As simple as that.”
“Gym and diet are both important. But I would tilt towards diet, as it's your diet that makes all your workouts worth it,” she added.
With a diet that is fitness-oriented, she is able to maintain it even during a busy schedule. She added, “As per my friends, I live on love and fresh air. For me, proteins and saturated fats are important. Pure ghee is one ingredient I can’t do without. So if a diet is maintained, health and being fit are not issues. I workout anywhere. As I want to move my body all the more to see if it’s all working well,
"But Hansa doesn’t believe in restricting herself when it comes to working out. She includes walks, gyms, and even yoga. She said, “I can workout anywhere. If my day doesn’t allow time in the day, I begin my day right in bed with various exercises that take care of the entire body. Then I only step out of bed to start my day. For the last two years, I had various leg injuries, so hitting the gym was a challenge. But thanks to my diet and zest for working out, I can now manage my fitness routine."
She is mostly on a light liquid diet and starts her day with a blueberry smoothie for breakfast with whey protein and yogurt. She added, “Lunch could be sattu sharbat or may have a protein bread slice with hummus. My dinner or lunch is the only so-called meal. Drink at least 4 liters of water, and of course I can’t do without my caffeine. Share two fitness and diet tips you follow. Listen to your body. It’s very essential. 6 pack abs is not healthy, but what’s inside is. Eat all that you desire, but in balance. And you should know how to burn it too.”
Hansa also pointed out that mental health is as essential as physical health. “As when you are mentally drained, you tend to binge. In my sphere of work, it’s like non-stop talking to help clients understand their lives and get clarity. This is non-stop, with all seeking my expertise. I do get drained. Sometimes eating food is a luxury.”
What do you do to maintain your mental health? “As I stay by myself, if it gets super hectic and draining, I cut myself off from the world and escape to a movie theater to watch a film - it helps me relax. If there's no good film, I drive out at night, listening to music and unwinding. Basically, it's my me time, with no talking to anyone. Sometimes I treat myself to a spa day for a good massage. Cooking is also very therapeutic."
